Blackhawk Waterways CVB (visit their site )- BWCVB.com is the website for Blackhawk Waterways Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB). BWCVB is a non-profit, official State of Illinois CVB, dedicated to promoting the Illinois counties of Carroll, Lee, Ogle and Whiteside as a tourism destination. Their site was completely redesigned from the ground up to provide a comprehensive listing of events, attractions and history of the Northwest Illinois 4 county region.

The new site has over 800 listings in it’s online directory and over 200 calendar events. The site was designed as a dynamic, database driven content management system using the award winning Joomla CMS platform. In addition to being an invaluable resource to tourists planning on visiting the region, tourism partners can log into the website to create and update their listings or events any time of day or night.

Also incorporated into the site is extremely powerful search and filter tool that allows visitors to find exactly what they want in a variety of ways. It's what we describe as website amenities. Visitors to websites want choice in how they find and receive information from the site. It’s not just about the content but the experience as well.

We also created a magazine style homepage that provides a “at a glance” view of what is going on in the region and offer up interesting articles about the region’s past and present. These articles expand the appeal of the website beyond online directory and gives the visitor a more traditional visitors guide like experience.

Working off the dynamic platform that runs the site, tourism vendors can log into their account on the website and modify their directory listing or add an event to the calendar. Training videos are also provided online for vendors to use.
